Mid Day, one of India’s leading tabloid, got a redesign today. The Times Group’s regional Mirrors’ got a redesign too a few months back, which hadn’t wow-ed me at all. I took a look at the centre spread of their issue of 6th Sept. 2011. Disappointed. Here are a few pointers:
| “ | Need to pick up Mid Day and see what their new design looks like. I’m not expecting to be wow-ed. |
| “ | p2 The title and sub-head would’ve been better is flushed towards the left margin. The space on the left would’ve been better on the right. |
| “ | p3 Only one column from the upper body of the text is shown on the next page. |
| “ | p4 The caption in the cut-circle on the img below is been aligned by giving space to the words so that they fit in the cut-circle. |
| “ | p5 Different tones on each photos. The eco-friendly Ganesha photo has a flash in it. |
| “ | p6 The “How to go green” box is bottom aligned with the caption of the adjacent img. Should’ve been bottom aligned with the image instead. |
| “ | p7 There is no marker to indicate the end of the article. I turned to next page to find a continuation of the piece, which isn’t there. |
